Energy sharing, or peer to peer energy trading, is decentralised trading of energy, where connected households buy and sell electricity from each other.
Wattero is developing marketplace solutions for energy markets, with a focus on microgrids in rural Africa. Wattero’s role varies from project to project, and can be just the trading logic or encompass the communications layer and dashboard as well. Our software sets a price for electricity based on the supply and demand for electricity and keeps track of the energy bought and sold for each household.
Meet our hard-working team. The Wattero team is comprised of people of various backgrounds and we are based in Oslo, Trondheim, and Abidjan. We are motivated by the possibility of providing affordable, solar energy to people who need it, enabling development, empowerment, and sustainability.
